Welcome to the Yale School of Nursing website! Established in 1923, the Yale School of Nursing was the first School of Nursing to be based in a university. Since that time, the School has enjoyed a national and international reputation for excellence in education, research, and clinical practice. Our graduates have gone on to assume positions of leadership around the world. The School's educational programs are consistently ranked in the top 10 for clinical education, and the School ranks sixth in funding from the National Institutes of Health to nursing schools for research. The research-intensive environment of Yale University, with its full range of academic disciplines, provides an exceptional environment for advanced study in nursing.
