817b. Professional Practice Issues for Adult Advanced Practice Nurses.2 credit hours. This course is designed to develop the adult advanced practice nurse’s transition to the professional role. The course explores theoretical and practical considerations underlying the multiple roles of the AAPNteacher, researcher, advocate, clinician, consultant, collaborator, and system manager. Topics to be addressed include reimbursement, change theory, consultation, ethical decision making, end-of-life issues, professional liability, and case management. Required for all adult advanced practice nursing students in the final year of specialization. Two hours per week for fifteen weeks. D. Chyun.
