Distinguished Alumna/us Award
Yale School of Nursing's Distinguished Alumna/us Award was created in 1973. Since then over 76 alumnae/i have been honored, with the earliest recipient having graduated in 1926 and the most recent in 1991. The number selected each year ranges from one to six with four or five as the usual. In recent years, the Award has been given to a single individual.
Recipients of the YSN Distinguished Alumna/us Award have demonstrated achievement or distinction in their career, their contributions to their communities or to YSN.
The Committee selecting the award is composed of the Yale School of Nursing Alumnae/i Assocation Board President, the managing officer of the organization, three members of the Board of Directors, and the Dean.
Information required to nominate a YSN alumna/us for the Award include: the candidate's name; year of graduation; a CV, resume or job history; and a nominating letter indicating the rationale for nomination. Specific Information regarding projects, programs, research, service, publications and/or presentations should be included as supporting documentation.
