FAQ
Q: What is Self and Family Management?
A:
Self management today encompasses a broad range of health and lifestyle behaviors practiced by an individual or family. This often happens with the support of nurses. There are many definitions of self management in the literature, but the majority focus is on the cluster of daily behaviors that individuals and their families perform to manage a health condition or risk for developing a future health problem.
Q: Who are vulnerable populations?
A:
These are individuals, families, and communities who are potentially at-risk for developing health problems by virtue of their age, gender, chronic illness, low socioeconomic or minority status, cultural barriers, poor utilization, or lack of equal access to care.
