Community Advisory Panel
To assure that the work conducted by the Center is appropriate, we will use the following National Institute of Health guidelines:
- Include the target audience
- Provide a service
- Empower people
- Respect cultural diversity
In keeping with these guidelines, a Community Advisory Panel plays a key role in shaping the activities of the Center as they relate to establishing community partnerships that include not only recruitment and retention of research subjects but also service-related activities to the community-at-large who may not participate in a given research study.
A Community Advisory Panel consists of local leaders and lay persons who advise the Executive Committee on our work. With a complementary mix of background and experience members of this Advisory Panel will help identify the strengths, needs, priorities, objectives and strategies of Center activities and proposed research. Members have unique skills to offer to the planning and evaluation of the Center.
