Research
Since the Center's inception, nine pilot studies have been launched that address the mission of the Center. The pilot investigators have worked closely with co-investigators at the partnering site to ensure that the studies will be conducted in two locations and by majority/minority partners at Yale and Howard Universities.
YSN offers a particularly strong base of established research that addresses self-management and health disparities.
Through the Exploratory Center for Self-Management Interventions for Populations at Risk, much of the scholarship has focused on the development and testing of interventions for self and family management.
The newly launched Partnership Center offers promise for an even greater focus on the health care needs of diverse populations.
HUDON is just as committed to the development and dissemination of knowledge that addresses the elimination of health disparities, and has created an environment that fosters the development of minority nurse scientists from the ranks of faculty and students.
With a strong focus on health disparities in its educational, service and research purposes, HUDON has an evolving record of self and family management studies related to cancer, incontinence, diabetes, and environmental health.
During the first year, four pilot studies will be launched that address the mission of the Center.
