Types of Gifts

Annual Giving

Every gift to the Annual Fund helps YSN to reach its Campaign goals. Annual Fund support is a vital resource allowing YSN to direct funding where it is most needed each year. For the last several years, Annual Fund gifts have been designated to bolster our financial aid resources for students.

Annual Fund support is a way in which many alumnae/i and friends are able to support YSN and help to make a difference. Every gift is precious. The number of our alumnae/i who participate in the Annual Fund is equally important. For many years, YSN alumnae/i have outpaced Yale's other Graduate and Professional School alumnae/i by leading the way with the greatest percentage of alumnae/i participating in YSN's Annual Fund. Our goal is to continue that enviable tradition demonstrating to our students the power and commitment of every YSN alumna/us.

Reunion Giving

YSN alumnae/i traditionally honor their class by making significant gifts during their reunion years. Multi year pledges, capital gifts, planned gifts and bequest intentions can also be part of a reunion gift.

Current Use Gifts

Donors may designate current use gifts in a variety of areas such as unrestricted current use, technology, financial aid, student life, and research. With a gift of $10,000, YSN's Named Scholar Program names a student to receive financial aid in the name of the donor. A pledge of $50,000, payable over 5 years, names a scholar each year over the duration of the pledge.

Endowment Gifts

Yale University School of Nursing's endowment, with a market value of $65 million in September 2007, is separate from the University's endowment. It provides approximately 8% of YSN's annual revenues. These resources help to support financial aid, new technologies, prizes, professorships, research activities, lectureships and special programs.

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a thoughtful way to put your support of Yale University School of Nursing, your personal needs and your financial needs on solid ground.
