Administrative staff is essential in keeping the doors of the Yale School of Nursing open every day. Their behind-the-scenes work supports our work as students and faculty, which can be measured in our success. The purpose of the Yale School of Nursing Staff Recognition Award is to acknowledge a staff member who completes this important work with energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment.
Each year the YSN Student Government Organization asks students and faculty to nominate staff members who provide outstanding service to the YSN community through their outstanding professionalism, friendliness, accessibility, reliability, attention to detail, and initiative. A student committee reviews the nominations, and selects the winner.
This year, we are proud to present the 2009 Staff Recognition Award to a dedicated and hardworking person. His calmness, reliability and patience have earned respect from his peers and the rest of the YSN community. This staff member graciously offers support and guidance to everyone in need of assistance. On nomination stated that he can be seen helping people upstairs and downstairs at the same time. With his friendly smile and good humor, he easily connects with students, staff and faculty alike. He is warm and ever positive. As another nomination mentioned, "He is the model of grace under pressure."
As a kind and committed staff member whose professionalism and hard work has earned the respect of the YSN community, this year's Staff Recognition Award goes to Mr. Neal Greene.
