Linda Pellico Reports on Nurses' First Year of WorkThe Chronicle of Higher Education featured a study led by YSN Assistant Professor Linda Pellico describing how nursing schools can better prepare students for the working conditions they face after graduation. Pellico stated, "Nurses today are intellectually, emotionally, and physically drained," and that YSN teaches teaches relaxation techniques like meditation and deep breathing, and keeping a journal.
The report, "What Newly Licensed Registered Nurses Have to Say About Their First Experiences," was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and surveyed 612 new nurses from 34 states.
