Alumna Marie Bakitas DNSc '06 received her first National Institutes of Health (NIH) R01 Research Grant for a study entitled, "Early Versus Later Palliative Oncology Care: Clinical and Biobehavioral Outcomes." Bakitas is an assistant professor at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
