Important Dates:
The Yale School of Nursing is a graduate level program. All applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. baccalaureate-level degree by the fall enrollment date. Candidates are evaluated on a number of variables including: evidence of motivation, academic ability, personal understanding of and propensity for advanced practice nursing, references, interview, and potential for continued constructive use of professional education.
All official transcripts and letters of recommendation (in their originally sealed envelopes) must be collected by the applicant and submitted to the Office of Admissions in one packet. This will ensure that materials are received on-time and are processed efficiently. We encourage you to use a delivery confirmation service to track that your packet arrives by the deadline. The exception to this rule is transcripts from international institutions that are subject to the evaluation by the credentialing agency.
Re-application policy
Applicants to Yale School of Nursing who have applied three times to the same program without an offer of admission will not be allowed to reapply to that program again.
The PhD in Nursing is facilitated by Yale’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. For more information, please click here.
YSN only enrolls new students once per calendar year, in late August.
