Erin McMahon, CNM, Ed.D
Erin McMahon is a lecturer of nursing in the midwifery and women’s health specialty and the interim faculty practice director at YSN. She has completed her Doctorate of Nursing Education from Southern Connecticut State University. McMahon is interested in studying valid and reliable ways to measure competence with nurse-midwifery students using simulation as a teaching strategy. She received the 2013 ACNM Foundation Excellence in Midwifery Teaching Award and the 2013 ACNM Outstanding Clinical Preceptor Award. McMahon is volunteer member of the AMCB Certificate Maintenance Module Committee. She is an active member of ACNM and INACSL. she seeks to develop a passion for midwifery care within the students that she works with.
Erin is interested in simulation and evidence based midwifery education.
She practices at the Vidone Birthing Center of Yale New Haven Hospital and sees women at the Yale Midwifery Westport location.
