Yale School of Nursing (YSN) Associate Professor Heather Reynolds, MSN, CNM, FACNM has been selected by Connecticut Nurse’s Association (CNA) to receive the 2014 Florence S. Wald Award for Outstanding Contribution to Nursing Practice.

Reynolds has been apart of the YSN community for many years, continually contributing her excellence in the Nurse-Midwifery area. “I am truly honored and humbled by the Florence S. Wald award,” said Reynolds. “I had the privilege of meeting Ms. Wald when I entered the YSN in 1977, and rekindled her acquaintance when I returned to YSN in 1986.  She was such an extraordinary woman. Tiny but mighty, incredibly down to earth, and so compassionate about nursing, health equity and hospice care among a few things.  I feel really blessed to have known her. Thank you for generously giving me this award.”

The CNA award honors individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to nursing in the areas of practice, education, administration, political action and service to CNA. Reynolds will accept this award at CNA’s annual Awards Reception held at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell, Connecticut on October 21st.

Reynolds has also received YSN’s Distinguished Alumna Award, was recipient of a Kellogg Foundation Student Fellowship, and is a Fellow of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
