Inaugural Visiting Scholar, Dr. Bernice Coleman, Engages with YSN Community

From March 22-31, 2017, Dr. Bernice Coleman engaged with the YSN community as the inaugural Visiting Scholar for the Office of Diversity & Inclusion.  Dr. Coleman met with students, faculty, and trainees to consult on their work and career trajectories.  She also met with key faculty across campus to strengthen partnerships and develop future progress.

On March 29, 2017, Dr. Coleman gave a lecture to the YSN and Yale community, “Disparities in Survival Among African American Heart Transplant Patients:  Will Omics Play a Role in Narrowing the Gap?”  The talk was well-attended and well-received by the nursing community at Yale.  Please see below for a series of pictures from Dr. Coleman’s talk.

The YSN Office of Diversity & Inclusion wishes to extend a warm thank you to both Dr. Coleman and the YSN community for engaging in such an enriching and exciting visit that will serve to enhance nursing research and practice within and outside our community.
