Recent Yale University School of Nursing graduate Nhu Tran received the Dorothy Sexton Scholarship for the 2010-2011 school year. The members of the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner faculty selected Tran based on her academic and clinical excellence.
The Dorothy Sexton Scholarship was established on the occasion of Dorothy’s retirement from the YSN faculty in 2001 to advance a new generation of nurse scholars. It commemorates her unparalleled contributions to nursing education and, in particular, to the dedication and professional guidance for which she will always be remembered.
Tran, who is also one of eight recipients of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s scholarship, also graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology. In the future she hopes to pursue a career as being an acute care nurse practitioner.
