Students Teach Safety at New Haven Health Fair

Students examined the human skeleton.YSN brought the "Have Bones Will Travel" educational program to Augusta Lewis Troup School in New Haven on May 26. The event gathered several area organizations and for an annual fair organized by Robert Howell of Charter Oak Community Health Center. Nearly 250 children were in attendance.

Have Bones, Will Travel was designed by YSN Assistant Professor Linda Pellico, and is very popular with area children. The program introduces elementary school children to human anatomy with an emphasis on health and safety.

The program was begun in 2001. YSN students Chris West '12 and Lisa Fishlin '12 led the Have Bones program for the first time, with support from Brandon Ko '10.





The program contrasts healthy and diseased organs.
