YSN Gives to Local Community

December 1, 2009

Giving to the local community.Faculty and staff of Yale University School of Nursing (YSN) donated more than 100 new toys and coats to the children of Church Street South (CSS) Apartments, a housing project located one block from YSN.

In response to the economic downturn, Dean Margaret Grey hosted the toy, clothing, and food drive in conjunction with the school's holiday party.

Bundles of toys and clothing were delivered to the apartments in mid-December, and children opened their gifts during the community's Christmas party.

(Pictured above) Assistant Professor Jessica Coviello, Senior Administrative Assistant Latisha Fuller-Sharpe, and Associate Professor Barbara Guthrie brought presents and food to CSS administrator Manuel Aldarondo. Based on the success of this year's drive, the group discussed ways to make next year's event even larger.
