The current edition of Nursing Research, the premier research journal in nursing, features articles by several YSN researchers, including several faculty, former DNSc students, and a postdoctoral fellow.
Professors Ruth McCorkle and Deborah Chyun worked with former DNSc student and current faculty member at National Taiwan University, Cheryl Chia-Hui Chen, on a paper on a measure to assess oral health in elders. They found that a single item performed well as a screening tool.
YSN DNSc graduate and current postdoctoral Fellow Marie Bakitas' paper was a report of her dissertation in which she described patients experience of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. In this qualitative study, Dr. Bakitis found that the symptom experience varied as did distress associated with those symptoms and functional status.
Former faculty member, Dr. Lynne Schilling, published a report from her instrument development study. Yale-affiliated faculty on this project included Professor Jane Dixon and Dean Margaret Grey. Former MSN student, Brett Ives, was a co-author as well. This article focuses on describing the use of experiential experts in a content validity evaluation of a new instrument.
Nursing Research is the official journal of the Eastern Nursing Research Society and the Western Institute of Nursing.
