We are excited to have you all join us in August for Orientation. Alongside the OSA staff, we have a group of Orientation Leaders dedicated to helping you transition to YSN. Check them out below! They are all part of the YSN New Student Facebook page and will be hosting Facebook Live events starting the last week of June. Arielle Cheifetz

Cate Cherry

Specialty: Midwifery and Women’s Health

Favorite thing about YSN: playing with all the models and toys in the lab

Fun Fact: I have been surfing in both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Vanessa Correia

Fun Fact(s): I used to do gymnastics, my patronus is a dolphin, and I plan to work teaching yoga into my future clinic life

Jennifer Espinoza

Jennie Glass

Specialty: Psychiatric Mental Health

Hometown: Anchorage, AK and Portland, OR

Favorite thing about YSN: My brilliant, supportive, and collaborative peers. And Neal Greene!

Fun fact: I have a scar on my chin from getting hit in the face with… a tambourine.

Ashley Henry

Specialty: Adult/Gerontology Primary Care

Fun fact: I once did a 10-day noble silence meditation retreat.

Carolyn Kirwan

Specialty: Nurse-Midwifery/Women’s Health

Hometown: Long Beach, California

Favorite Thing About YSN: The amazing friends I have here! Also most professors are fine with my knitting in class; I’ve even had some ask about my projects after class was over.

Involvement: Employee at GPSCY (the graduate student bar), YSN Mental Health Task Force

Fun Fact: I have two cats here in New Haven. One of them drools all over me when she cuddles, and the other likes to be held like a baby.

Casey Magis-Agosta

Favorite thing about YSN: Being surrounded by compassionate and intelligent people that inspire you to be a better nurse every day! (Also, the hallway down by the labs in the basement is big and private enough for doing cartwheels when you’re anxious about exams.)

Emma Kleck

Fun Fact: I played trumpet in my undergraduate college marching band, and traveled to 5 different states with the band!

Favorite thing about YSN: The diversity of student’s experiences prior to coming to YSN!

Fun Fact: I was a competitive Irish Dancer growing up and was on the Irish Dance Team at Boston College.
