After receiving her bachelor of science in pharmacy at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Meland, BS, PharmD, went on to pursue her doctor of pharmacy at the University of Florida. She began her pharmacy career as a pharmacist manager and trainer with CVS Pharmacy and continued as a community pharmacist for 8 years.

With a passion for patients with diabetes, she changed roles and worked with clinicians and patients as a diabetes specialist with Eli Lilly and Company for 7 years. Dr. Meland joined Yale School of Nursing in 2007. Since then, she has been the Course Coordinator and Lecturer for Introduction to Drug Therapy for the Graduate Entry Prespecialty in Nursing (GEPN) program and Clinical Pharmacology for the master’s program in 2011-2012. She also received the YSN Annie Goodrich Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2011.           

Dr. Meland currently holds a pharmacy license in the state of Connecticut and is a member of the Connecticut Pharmacists Association, American Pharmacists Association and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.

Currently, Dr. Meland is a senior director of clinical management for the largest pharmacy benefit manager in the country.
