Judith Shindul-Rothschild ‘78

Class of 1978

As associate professor at Boston College School of Nursing, Judith Shindul-Rothschild, PhD, RN, is a psychiatric nurse clinical specialist. A Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academy of Practice and past president of the Massachusetts Nurses Association, Dr. Shindul-Rothschild has served on many boards, including the Massachusetts Nurses Association and the Sherborn Democratic Town Committee, was a consultant with the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and is also a founding member of the Delta Mu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau at YSN.

She has received many honors for her efforts in nursing, such as the 2013 Keys to Inclusive Leadership Mentor Award, the 1999 Excellence in Academic Nursing Education Award from the Massachusetts Nurses Association, and the 1986 Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Yale University. Dr. Shindul-Rothschild has also written many articles in a number of professional journals, such as the Journal of Emergency Nursing, and is co-author of the book Aging and Public Policy: Social Control or Social Justice.
