Christine M. Berté is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Post-master certificate as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her MSN and Postmaster certificate from Fairfield University and holds an EdD in Nursing Education from Western Connecticut State University. Dr. Berté is certified by the National League of Nursing as a Nurse Educator and in 2019 was the recipient of the Daisy Faculty Award.

Academically, Christine has taught and developed curriculum for all levels of nursing education, including courses that were held in London, Dublin, and various cities in Italy. She has held numerous administrative positions in her academic career, including the position of Dean of the School of Nursing at Mount Saint Mary College.

Clinic​al Practice / Research Interests

Christine’s clinical specialty is Adolescent Medicine, and for over 20 years her practice consisted of providing health care for juveniles in the detention centers throughout Connecticut.
 
A primary research interest explores the challenges of advanced practice education, with her doctoral research focused on the stressors and satisfactions of clinical preceptors and how nursing faculty  can assist with the challenges. Other interests include the ethics of nursing practice and the impact spirituality has on healthcare.
