Dr. Ann Kurth, Next Dean of YSN, Introduced to the School Community

July 20, 2015

On Thursday, July 16th, 2015, Yale University President Salovey and Yale School of Nursing (YSN) outgoing dean Margaret Grey introduced the School's next dean, Dr. Ann Kurth, to the YSN community. President Salovey shared his thoughts about Dr. Kurth's appointment, including her many accomplishments, awards, and global work, and thanking Dean Grey for her impact on the School in the past decade.

Dr. Kurth was able to speak about her vision for YSN and the work she hopes to accomplish as dean. "My vision for YSN is simple," stated Dr. Kurth. "It leverages what each of you, and our illustrious nursing and midwifery community members, have built as a foundation - to be the best School for advanced practice nursing in the world."

Recognizing the influence YSN had on her career, Dr. Kurth wants to continue influencing future nursing students at the School. "Every opportunity I have had in my professional life in some way connects back to the training and experience I received here at YSN," she said. "I want that for more students! For students from every background and perspective, as we work for nursing that reflects and engages the rich diversity of our patients and our communities."
