Katrien Derycke-Chapman

Katrien has been a nurse at Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) since 1982, working as a staff nurse in the cardio-thoracic intensive care unit for 30 years to her current role as a post anesthesia care unit nurse for more than a year. Throughout her time at YNHH, Katrien has advanced to the fourth and highest level in YNHH’s Recognition and Clinical Advancement Program (RCAP). She has been a member of the Staff Nurse Council since 2012, a CT-ICU representative for Collaborative Governance for the Heart and Vascular Center Cluster from 2010-2012, and was recipient of the 2012 Virginia Henderson Award for Excellence in Nursing Practice and the 2005 Florence Nightingale Award. Katrien earned her bachelor’s degree from New Hampshire College School of Human Services and her master’s degree from Yale University School of Medicine.
