Formerly a United States Army Special Forces medical sergeant, operations manager, critical care nurse and emergency room nurse practitioner, Monte is currently an on-site medical director at Community Health Center, Inc. At CHC, Monte provides direct clinical care, with minimal supervision including physical exams, approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, laboratory and imaging studies, and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications to patients. Throughout the past two years under his leadership, the staff has grown from four to ten, two sites to three, and is now perched to expand its physical plant, adding extended hours, complementary services of nutrition, podiatry and chiropractic services. Monte earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Columbia University School of Nursing. And in 2006, Monte obtained his MPH from Columbia University School of Public Health.
