Annemarie Heath

Annemarie Heath graduated from Yale University with a Masters in Nursing and a Certificate in Midwifery in 1993. She has worked with Latin American communities locally and abroad for over 20 years.  She founded the non-profit Proyecto ADAMES in 2004 whose mission is to improve maternal and infant mortality and morbidity in the Dominican Republc.  She transitioned this U.S based organization to the Dominican run non-profit: Asociacion ADAMES in 2010. Throughout her career she has collaborated in research development  to understand and evaluate the maternal infant health care issues in the Dominican Republic. Annemarie has taught midwifery and maternal child nursing at the University of Puerto Rico and the University of Massachusetts. She is currently the lead midwife and has a clinical practice at the Cooley-Dickinson Center for Midwifery Care in Northampton Massachusetts.
