Autumn Spence

Autumn Spence is a board certified adult and geriatric nurse practitioner for United Health Group, Mid-Atlantic region, where she manages geriatric patients in long term care facilities. Prior to this she held the position of nurse practitioner at MedStar Georgetown University hospital in the procedural PACU and simultaneously provided primary care to a predominantly underserved population in the Anacostia section of Washington, DC. Autumn has also provided healthcare services at organizations including but not limited to New York Presbyterian Weil Cornell Medical Center where among other things was selected to serve as co-chair of the shared governance board; and NYU Medical Center. Having seen the disparities in healthcare nationally and globally her passion is to create and transform health care models for vulnerable populations. Autumn earned a bachelor’s of arts with a focus in psychology and business aanagement from Stony Brook University; a bachelor’s of science in nursing, with Sigma Theta Tau honors, from College of Mount Saint Vincent; and a master’s of science in nursing, with Sigma Theta Tau honors, from New York University. Autumn currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and their 2 year-old daughter. In her spare time she likes to support various volunteer efforts in the community such as health clinics and food pantries.
