Allison Squires
Dr. Squires is a professor at New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing and the Director of the Global Consortium of Nursing and Midwifery Studies, a research consortium collaborating with 82 countries. Her work focuses on the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nursing workforce and improving health outcomes for immigrant and refugee populations, particularly by addressing language discordance in healthcare encounters.
A prolific scholar, Dr. Squires has authored over 200 publications and has consulted with leading organizations such as the Migration Policy Institute and the World Bank to address nursing and health workforce issues. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Squires was named the Distinguished Nurse Scholar in Residence by the National Academy of Medicine and received the Outstanding Mentor Award from Academy Health in 2023.
