90 Outstanding Yale Nurses Recipient

Class of 1985

The Patricia Bleznak Silverstein and Howard A. Silverstein Endowed Term Chair in Global Women’s Health Associate rofessor of Nursing, at the School of Nursing of the University of Pennsylvania, Anne M. Teitelman, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, FAAN, is a board member of the International Council for Women Health Issues and a member of the editorial board for Health Care for Women International.

Her research on the connection of social and cognitive influences on sexual health for adolescent girls and young women has concluded that there is a link between partner abuse and sexual risk and intrinsic vulnerabilities in decision-making that affect sexual risk. Dr. Teitelman and her colleagues won first prize from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in the “Reducing Cancer Among Women of Color Challenge” for their web application, Everhealthier Women, which helps women track cancer-prevention tasks for themselves and others through the web and text messaging.
