As the Ellen and Robert Kapito Professor in Nursing Science at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Martha A. Q. Curley, RN, PhD, FAAN, has dedicated her research to nurse-implemented interventions. Dr. Curley’s current study, Randomized Evaluation of Sedation Titration fOr Respiratory FailurE (RESTORE), is making great strides within the management of sedating infants and children on mechanical ventilation. Her research has led to the development of core metrics such as the Braden Q scale, the State Behavioral Scale, the Withdrawal Assessment Tool version 1, and several others.
