Dr. Ruby L. Wilson first introduced Poolsook P. Sriyaporn, MSN, to YSN. After graduating from YSN with a degree in pediatric nursing, Poolsook returned to Thailand, where she became an associate professor of nursing at Ramathibodi School of Nursing, Mahidol University, Bangkok. She was then appointed associate director of foreign affairs for Ramathibodi School of Nursing, before it became the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborative Center for Nursing and Midwifery. At the same time, Poolsook was a temporary consultant at the WHO Workshop of the Investigators of the Collaborative Study on Physical Growth and Psychosocial Development at Hyderabad, India, in 1991.

Poolsook received World Health Organization Research Funding for the Development of Developmental Indicators for Thai Children project. Additionally, Poolsook received a scholarship from the Commonwealth Association for Health and Disability for her presentation of Thailand Development Indicators Test Manual and Researchers in Mahe, Seychelles.

In 1999, Poolsook was recipient of the YSN Distinguished Alumna Award.
