Asia Neupane

About

Asia Neupane joined Yale School of Nursing on September 4, 2024 as Director for the Office of Global Affairs and Planetary Health.  She previously held a dual role at the Yale Office of International Affairs and the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. She led international programming, partnerships, and institutional engagement with a focus on Latin America and Europe. Previously, Asia supported board relations, alumni engagement, and international fundraising initiatives, including at the Yale Center Beijing, during her tenure at the Yale School of Management and Yale’s Office of International Development. Asia received her B.A. and M.A. from Wesleyan University and her Ed.D. from Northeastern University. She is the recipient of a Yale Working Women’s Network award and two Fulbright fellowships in Colombia and Germany. Her more recent academic research focuses on networks and internationalization in higher education. At Yale, Asia is a fellow and advisor at Silliman College. She is an editor for the Journal of Comparative and International Higher Education and the Journal of International Students and is on the Advisory Board for The Halifax Institute for Global Interdisciplinary Collaboration. Originally from Nepal, Asia has a deep interest in planetary health and this lens has led to her research and educational experiences in sustainable development and environmental health in South Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
