Christie Torres

Christie Torres has 18 years of experience as a nurse.

She received both her BS degree and MSN degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, with an additional certification in whole foods, plant-based nutrition from E-Cornell University.  She is working clinically in a family practice medical clinic in Texas.

Christie values leadership, integrity, and professionalism as her core values of nursing, and she strives for excellence in serving her patients and her community.  Her accomplishments include the development of a variety of successful community and public school wellness programs that have increased community awareness of health, including the following: a community-wide 5K event, an after-school running program, a community asthma conference local event, a school district fitness room, and a high school awareness program for diabetes.

She has a desire to improve healthcare through innovative clinical strategies in disease prevention and management through the use of lifestyle modifications centered on nutrition therapy and physical exercise.

She has been elected into Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society. 

Christie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.  She and her husband enjoy endurance sports and often travel together participating in triathlon events that involve open water swimming, cycling, and running.  She has participated in the Coeur d’Alene Full IronMan 2014, the VineMan California Full IronMan 2016, the Puerto Rico 70.3 IronMan 2017, and the Texas North Championship Full IronMan 2017.
