Dr. Darrell Owens is a renowned leader in palliative care, hospice medicine, and grief therapy, with over three decades of experience. As the Associate Medical Director for Palliative Care at the University of Washington Medical Center, he has transformed patient-centered care and end-of-life support.

Why You Should Attend:

  • Learn about disenfranchised grief—grief that is not openly acknowledged or socially supported, making it difficult for individuals to mourn.

  • Understand the vital role of thanatologists—specialists who study death, dying, and bereavement—to support patients, families, and healthcare providers.

  • Engage in discussions about nursing, aging, and ethical considerations in end-of-life care.

  • Network with faculty, clinicians, and students passionate about advancing healthcare.

Dr. Owens is the only nurse practitioner in the U.S. to hold a Master’s in Thanatology and be certified as a thanatologist (CT). His international work in Vietnam and China, combined with groundbreaking research on disenfranchised grief and death anxiety in oncology, makes this a must-attend event!

Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired by one of the most distinguished voices in palliative care!
