Health transcends borders. Local outbreaks of disease are becoming more global. While this leads to increased global effort and collaboration, it also exacerbates health inequities that already exist in low- and middle-income countries. By promoting healthy behaviors, investing in health care infrastructure, and addressing the root causes of health disparities locally, we can improve the health of communities around the world and help ensure a healthier future for everyone. On April 19, 2023, the Yale Institute for Global Health (YIGH) will welcome Dr. Manisha Juthani, Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Public Health and Dr. Umair A. Shah, Secretary of Health, State of Washington to discuss these important issues.
