IDEAS Council
The purpose of the IDEAS council is multifocal and includes but may not be limited to:

  • Actively engaging in implementation of the Yale School of Nursing (YSN) DEIB Plan.
  • Advocating for equality and equity for all members of the YSN community through generation of ideas and initiatives whereby all constituents within YSN have a representative voice in sustaining a culture of inclusive excellence.
  • Promoting a psychologically safe environment that supports a culture of antiracism, anti-oppression, and antidiscrimination, and admonishes retaliatory practices.

The IDEAS Council vision is for YSN to be a model of inclusive excellence in nursing education, research, and practice. Inclusive excellence refers to active engagement in and collective embodiment of diversity, equity, and inclusion in ways that exemplify value of differences, offer space for individuals to be their authentic selves, and the principles of diversity are the nucleus of organizational systems.
