Amanda Kinney, MSN, PMHNP, APRN
About
Dr. Kinney is a lecturer in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty. She completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She earned a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Bowling Green State University. Dr. Kinney successfully completed the Graduate Entry Pre-Specialty in Nursing (GEPN) program and Master of Nursing at Yale University School of Nursing. She completed her doctoral work at Yale University School of Nursing where her work focused on delirium and medical mimics of psychiatric disorders.
When not working academically or clinically, Dr. Kinney enjoys spending time with her family and her fur baby, Sophie. Typically, Dr. Kinney can be found at Walt Disney World multiple times throughout the year or attending local festivals or craft shows.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Kinney is a clinical director of nurse practitioners in Ohio. In her clinical work as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she serves the adult and geriatric population in the long-term care setting. Dr. Kinney provides diagnosis and treats a vast array of psychiatric disorders but has particular interest in psychotic disorders and delirium.
Dr. Kinney precepts student nurse practitioners and new graduate psychiatric nurse practitioners. She enjoys assisting individuals in their personal and professional growth.
