Anna-Rae Montano, PhD

About

Dr. Montano is a Lecturer in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program at Yale School of Nursing. She also serves as the Coordinator of Inpatient Geriatric Services at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Montano holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, a Master’s of Science and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Connecticut. She is board certified in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Oncology Nursing and has clinical experience in both subspecialties. Her research has primarily focused on interprofessional models of care for community-dwelling older adults. Most recently, Dr. Montano completed a post-doctoral fellowship through the Office of Academic Affiliations at the Providence VA Medical Center, Center of Innovation in Long-term Services and Supports. During this time, she served as a Research Assistant at the School of Public Health at Brown University. Her work focused on improving care for older community-dwelling Veterans at-risk for unplanned care such as hospitalizations and emergency department visits. Dr. Montano has experience teaching in undergraduate programs at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the University of Connecticut.
