Cecrystal Obianauju Umeugo is an Advanced Practice Nurse at the Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center in New Haven CT. During her 10 years at the community-based health center, Cecrystal has focused on ensuring that historically underserved individuals are provided equal access to quality healthcare. Her role involves patient advocacy, education and raising public awareness regarding preventative care for adult patients. In addition, she also works as a clinical program director for the Centralized Staffing Office at Yale New Haven Health System.

Cecrystal graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Nursing in 2007 with her bachelor’s degree in nursing and minor in history. She was accepted to Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2007 and graduated in 2010. She joined Umeugo & Associates, P.C. and has worked on a variety of cases including employment discrimination and medical malpractice. In 2014, she graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree. In 2021, Cecrystal received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida. Cecrystal has been part of the adjunct clinical nursing faculty at several colleges including Southern Connecticut University, Quinnipiac University, and Gateway Community College.
