Elizabeth Cohen, Pharm D
About
Elizabeth A. Cohen, PharmD BCPS is a Clinical Pharmacist and Manager of Transplant Quality, Compliance & Outreach at Yale New Haven Hospital covering abdominal transplant clinical services in addition to project management, data analysis, and quality improvement for the Transplant Department. Dr. Cohen graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and went on to complete her PGY-1 pharmacy practice and PGY-2 solid organ transplant residencies at Yale New Haven Hospital where she moved into a Clinical Pharmacist role in abdominal transplant where she has been a preceptor and mentor for pharmacy residents and students.
In 2017 she received the Connecticut Society of Health System Pharmacists Meritorious Achievement Award for her contributions to the transplant literature. In 2019 she won the Annie W Goodrich Award for excellence in Teaching from Yale School of Nursing. Dr. Cohen is active outside of her institution serving on committees with American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and the American Society of Transplantation. Dr. Cohen is also the co-chair of Donate Life Connecticut.
Research Interests/Clinical Practice
Dr. Cohen has over 30 publications including Hepatitis C treatment, use belatacept for the prevention of rejection in kidney transplant recipients, multi-modal pain management, polypharmacy in older transplant recipients, and infectious disease considerations in pediatric and adult transplant patients.
Dr. Cohen is a Clinical Pharmacist at Yale New Haven Hospital on the Abdominal Solid Organ Transplant team.
