About

A graduate of Yale University School of Nursing with a Master’s degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Elyse Borsuk ’90 is the Preceptor Liaison and a lecturer for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty, as well as a clinical preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology and in nursing from the State University of New York at Binghamton. 

Ms. Borsuk is a Board certified by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and a member at both the national and local levels. Her licensure and professional training includes pediatric nurse practitioner certification, Federal DEA Registration, State of Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration, and an APRN in the State of Connecticut.

Research Interests/Clinical Practice

Research Interests 

Elyse’s master’s thesis focused on the parental perceptions of preparation for discharge from the Neonatal Intensive Care unit with a focus on Vulnerable Child Syndrome. Elyse has also participated in gathering data for studies concerning asthma management in children. 

Clinical Practice 

As a pediatric nurse practitioner in private practice Elyse sees patients birth through college age, specializing in the healthcare of adolescents including well child care, acute care and gynecological care. She counsels new mothers to help facilitate breast-feeding. Before joining her current practice twenty-one years ago she provided healthcare to children in a variety of settings including school based health center as well as a community health clinic.
