About

Magdalena Guerrero serves as a Lecturer in Simulation at Yale School of Nursing, where she brings a deep commitment to advancing experiential learning, as well as clinical excellence. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University, an Associate of Science in Nursing from Gateway Community College, and a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Hartford. Her academic contributions have included serving as clinical faculty for the Graduate Entry Pre-Specialty in Nursing (GEPN) program and as a simulation and lab faculty at Gateway Community College. Professor Guerrero is deeply committed to meeting students where they are and believes that meaningful learning emerges when educators honor each student’s unique journey. She strives to create inclusive, responsive learning environments, that ultimately foster growth and cultivate confidence amongst all learners.

Clinical Practice

In her clinical practice, Professor Guerrero is a dedicated Adult Step-Down nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she provides high-acuity care to patients in critical transition. She is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), equipping her with the advanced clinical skills necessary to respond to complex cardiac emergencies and is certified in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) which validates a healthcare professionals’ ability to accurately assess the severity of a stroke. With a strong foundation in clinical care and a commitment to evidence-based practice, Professor Guerrero brings clinical excellence and compassionate instruction to nursing students in simulation-based education.
