Nancy Cantey Banasiak is an Associate Professor in the Pediatric Nursing Practitioner specialty. She has been a faculty member at YSN since 1998 and practices at Yale New Haven Hospital Primary Care Center with a focus on asthma. She holds her master’s degree of science from Catholic University of America and is currently enrolled in their DNP program. Nancy is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners where she serves as a member of their executive committee and treasurer. She was named one of the top 25 Pediatric Nursing Professors in 2014 and was awarded the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing.

Research Interests/Clinical Practice

Research Interests

Nancy’s research focuses on asthma and sleep. Her interest has been driven by her clinical experience working with children and their families with asthma. She is particularly interested in the understanding the effect of asthma on sleep. She will be working closely with Drs. Nancy Redeker and Lois Sadler on the community engaged sleep promotion program for children.
