About
Rachel Gima is a certified nurse-midwife with a Master’s degree in Nursing from Yale University and a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a minor in Psychology from Harvard University’s extension school. She began her career in private practice, working in a full-scope midwifery position serving families in eastern Connecticut before joining the Yale Midwifery Faculty practice. She came to midwifery through a life-long interest in pregnancy, labor, and birth, and spent several years volunteering as a birth doula for underserved families in the Boston area during her time at Harvard. She emphasizes patient-centered care and shared decision making in her care of others, and is passionate about contributing to the education of future midwives.
