About 

Dr. Feder is an Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Nursing, Associate Program Director for the Yale National Clinician Scholars Program, and an investigator at the PRIME Center of Excellence at the West Haven, VA. She has over a decade of clinical experience as an advanced practice nurse in hospice, palliative care, and cardiovascular settings. Dr. Feder’s research program aims to create innovative models of care delivery that improve access to high-quality, timely palliative care for people with cardiopulmonary conditions. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (R56HL166523), the Hartford Centers for Gerontological Nursing Excellence, the Palliative Care Research Cooperative, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Research Interests 

An organizational health services researcher, Dr. Feder’s research interests include palliative and end-of-life care delivery for people with non-cancer serious illness, health policy related to palliative and end-of-life care, medical informatics, and digital health interventions. She has expertise in qualitative and mixed methods and implementation science.  Her current research, funded by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute seeks to identify the causes of wide variation in palliative care uptake and identify best practices in palliative care and end-of-life care delivery among Veterans with heart failure.

Clinical Practice 

Dr. Feder started her nurse practitioner career in 2010 working with a hospitalist service. She has been practicing as a palliative care nurse practitioner since 2013.
