About

Dr. Tina Walde is a Lecturer in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty and GEPN programs. She has an extensive background in child and adolescent psychiatry as a dually certified lifespan psychiatric nurse practitioner and child and adolescent psychiatric clinical nurse specialist.

Dr. Walde teaches individual psychotherapy in the PMHNP program and co-teaches the psychiatric mental health nursing seminar and practicum in the GEPN program. She also precepts specialty students during their child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric rotation.

Clinical Practice

As a clinician, Dr. Walde’s work focuses on children and adolescents with a range of mental health needs in integrated care and specialty settings. She has worked with diverse populations in a youth dual diagnosis residential program, migrant farmworkers clinic, refugee health center, and integrated care settings. She is committed to developing sustainable health care models that improve access to quality care.

Research Interests

Dr. Walde’s research interests include quality and systems improvement in trauma-informed care practices, workforce development issues in psychiatric nursing, and the delivery of innovative mental health and improvement science curriculum for nursing students.
