Nurses’ Perceptions of U.S. Hospital Mergers: Nurses Navigating Change
Study Overview
Researchers at Yale University are looking for nurses who have experienced a hospital merger in the last 5 years to share their experiences to help us understand what happens to nurses and patient care when hospitals undergo mergers. Participation involves a one-on-one 60-minute interview with a member of the Yale research team followed by a brief 10-minute anonymous survey. For your participation in the interview, you will receive a $50 gift card. Your voice will help shape the future of nursing!

Meet the Team
Dr. Kathleen E. Fitzpatrick Rosenbaum, PhD, MHS, RN, CCRN is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Fellowship at Yale University with appointments in the Schools of Nursing, Medicine, and Public Health in the Department of Health Policy and Management. As a nurse and interdisciplinary health services researcher, Dr. Rosenbaum studies how healthcare system factors influence the nursing workforce, safety and quality of care, and patient outcomes.
Dr. Deena Kelly Costa, PhD, RN, FAAN is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Yale School of Nursing and holds a secondary appointment in the Section of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. As a nurse researcher, Dr. Costa has expertise in nursing research and critical care teams.
Dr. Mark Schelsinger, PhD is a Professor at Yale School of Public Health in the Department of Health Policy and Management. As a trained health economist, Dr. Schlesinger's research explores the determinants of public opinion about health and social policy.
Dr. Soohyun Nam, PhD, APRN, ANP-BC, FAHA, FAAN is an Associate Professor at Yale School of Nursing. As an adult nurse practitioner and nurse scientist, Dr. Nam's research examines individuals with chronic health conditions in the context of health disparities.
Nathan Wright, M.A. is a Research Associate in the Yale School of Nursing and is a trained cultural anthropologist with research on teamwork in healthcare and improvements to healthcare delivery.
