Luc. R Pelletier

Mr. Pelletier, MSN APRN PMHCNS-BC CPHQ FNAHQ FAAN is senior specialist, nursing at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital; adjunct professor at the University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science; core adjunct faculty at National University; and a healthcare consultant in San Diego, CA. He is a graduate of Yale University (MSN) and Fairfield University (BSN).

His current research focuses on recruitment and retention strategies of new graduate nurses into the psychiatric-mental health nursing profession and the measurement of patient engagement in healthcare. He is a technical writer and editor. In addition, he publishes widely in the areas of nursing administration, quality and safety, and patient engagement including several books, numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed articles.

Mr. Pelletier participates in local and national initiatives focusing on safe and equitable care for persons with enduring behavioral health challenges. His other efforts help inform and shape systems of care and national standards of policy and performance. He has been a nurse expert with the U.S. Department of Justice and a scientific consultant to the National Institutes of Health. Mr. Pelletier is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ).
