The fall 2015 issue of Yale Nursing Matters magazine is now available online. The magazine delves into the issue of toxic stress, or a prolonged exposure to significant adversity that is not only overwhelming to a child but also not alleviated by the buffering of supportive adults. We learn about the side effects of toxic stress, solutions to the problem, and how nursing is playing a key role in developing strategies of support for families.
In the issue, we also get to know our next dean a little better, learn more about YSN’s interprofessional program with Yale School of Medicine and the Physician Associate program, chat with a family nurse practitioner student who wishes to provide holistic care and support to patients, and catch up with our talented and driven alumnae/i.
