A successful Scholars’ Day was recently held at YSN, recognizing students’ scholarship. Through a selective process, a student from each of the four programs (Master’s specialty, PhD, DNP, and the post-doctoral program) was chosen to give an oral presentation. This year the four student speakers were:
Edward G. Gaiser, BA, RN, MSN
The Biological Effects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia in Individual with Stable Heart Failure and Insomnia
Michelle Schmerge, DNP, MSN, RN
Achieving Full Practice Authority: One Strategy to Promote Team-Based Care with the use of Toolkit
Eileen Condon, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PhD Candidate
Intergenerational Transmission of Protective Factors Among Families at Risk of Toxic Stress
Sunyoung Jung, PhD, RN, Postdoctoral Fellow
How SES Influences Diet Behaviors through Psychological and Environmental Factors among African Americans
Other students were encouraged to present their work through a poster session. Altogether 10 posters were on display during the day, giving students the opportunity to discuss their work with the 70 faculty and students who attended.
